Role Overview
As a Doppler Radio Broadcast Engineer, you’ll be responsible for managing the technical infrastructure that powers the station. You’ll troubleshoot issues, maintain equipment, and support live broadcasts to ensure a professional and reliable experience for our listeners and contributors.
Responsibilities
Broadcast Operations:
Oversee the setup and maintenance of broadcasting equipment, including cameras, mixers, audio interfaces, microphones, and streaming platforms.
Monitor live broadcasts to ensure high-quality sound and uninterrupted streaming.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly during live shows or pre-recorded sessions.
Equipment Maintenance and Optimization:
Conduct regular checks on all equipment to ensure it is functioning correctly.
Optimize studio setups for DJs and presenters to enhance their broadcasting experience.
Technical Support:
Provide hands-on technical support for show hosts and guest contributors, ensuring they are comfortable with the studio equipment.
Train new presenters on how to use broadcasting tools and software effectively.
Create easy-to-follow guides for troubleshooting common technical issues.
Innovation and Growth:
Stay updated on the latest broadcasting technologies and recommend upgrades or improvements to the studio.
Work with the team to explore innovative ways to improve the quality of broadcasts and expand the station’s reach.
Skills & Attributes
Required:
Basic knowledge of audio engineering
Familiarity with streaming platforms and software such as OBS, Mixlr, or similar tools.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Passion for music and a commitment to supporting community-focused projects.
Preferred:
Understanding of networking and internet-based streaming protocols.
A creative mindset for optimizing audio quality and studio workflows.
