Who we are

Doppler Studio Ltd (company no. 14529315), 3rd Floor, 84 High Street, Leicester LE1 5YP, is the data controller for personal data collected through this website and at the venue. Contact us about anything on this page at [email protected].

What we collect

  • Hire enquiries: your name, email, phone number, organisation, and the details of the event you're planning.
  • Radio applications and guest show bookings: your name or DJ name, contact details, links to your mixes and socials, and your preferred show slots.
  • Emails you send us: whatever you choose to include.
  • CCTV footage when you visit the venue (see below).
  • Photos and video taken at club nights and radio shows (see below).

Tickets for club nights are sold by Fatsoma, which handles your ticket and payment details under its own privacy policy.

Why we use it

  • To reply to your enquiry or application, and to arrange and run a booking. The lawful basis is taking steps to enter into, or perform, a contract with you.
  • To keep invoices and payment records. The lawful basis is our legal obligation to keep accounting records.
  • To keep people and the venue safe. The lawful basis is our legitimate interests.
  • To share photos and video of our nights and shows. The lawful basis is our legitimate interests in promoting Doppler, and you can ask us to remove you at any time.

We don't sell your data and we don't use it for advertising.

Who can see it

Our own team, and the services we use to run Doppler: Airtable (forms and bookings), Google Workspace (email), and Cloudflare (website hosting). Some of these store data outside the UK under the safeguards UK data protection law requires. We share data with the police or other authorities only where the law requires it or to deal with an incident.

How long we keep it

Enquiries and applications that don't go ahead are deleted within two years. Booking, invoice and payment records are kept for six years, as the law requires.

Your rights

You can ask to see the data we hold about you, correct it, have it deleted, restrict or object to how we use it, or get a copy to take elsewhere. Email [email protected] and we'll reply within one month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

02 · CCTV

Cameras on.

Doppler uses CCTV throughout the venue, including the studios, the main room, hallways and stairwells. The cameras record video 24 hours a day and do not record audio.

Why

  • To protect the safety and welfare of our staff, guests and artists.
  • To protect our equipment and premises, and to help investigate theft, damage or fraud.
  • To help identify and prosecute anyone who commits a crime at the venue.

We don't use CCTV for anything else, including marketing.

Who can see it

Access is limited to our security team, a small number of trained Doppler staff, and our contracted security company. Footage is shared only with the police or other authorities in connection with an incident or investigation.

How long we keep it

All footage is deleted after 31 days, unless it's needed for an incident, a police investigation or a legal claim. In that case it's deleted when the matter ends, and within two years at most.

To ask for footage of yourself, email [email protected] with the date, the approximate time and a description of yourself, within 31 days of your visit.

03 · Filming

On camera.

We photograph and film club nights, and every radio show is streamed and filmed live. Photos and video may be posted on our website, social media, YouTube and Mixcloud, and may show you in the crowd or in the studio.

If you'd rather not be filmed or photographed, tell a member of staff or the photographer on the night. If you appear in something we've posted and want it removed, email [email protected] with a link and we'll take it down or crop you out.

Promoters who hire the room may bring their own photographers. Their photos are covered by the promoter's own privacy policy.

04 · Cookies

No cookies.

This website doesn't set cookies or use advertising or tracking tools. Our fonts and images are hosted on our own site.

We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which doesn't use cookies, doesn't follow you across other sites and doesn't identify you. It tells us how many people visit and which pages they read. Cloudflare, which hosts the site, also keeps basic technical logs to keep it secure and running.

Links to Airtable, Fatsoma, Mixcloud, YouTube, SoundCloud and Instagram take you to their sites, which have their own cookie and privacy policies.
